We are seeking an experienced NDT Technician to join one of our prestigious Formula One clients on a fixed term contract basis to support chassis, composite, and metallic component inspection across the race team and wider technical group.

This is an exceptional opportunity to work at the highest level of motorsport, ensuring safety critical components meet stringent FIA and team specific quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out NDT inspections using UT, MPI, DPI and Eddy Current techniques across composite and metallic race components.

Perform inspections on parts such as:

Suspension elements

Gearbox casings

Composite structural parts (monocoque, floors, wings)

Metallic machined components

Interpret results accurately and produce detailed inspection reports in line with team standards.

Work closely with Designers, Production, and Race Engineers to advise on component integrity and failure trends.

Support inspection activities during high?pressure build cycles, upgrade programmes, and prerace schedules.

Maintain calibration and control of NDT equipment, consumables, and technique sheets.

Ensure all work aligns with FIA regulations, internal quality procedures, and aerospace?level safety practices.

Contribute to continuous improvement of inspection methods, techniques, and workflow efficiency.

Essential Skills & Experience Required

Minimum Level 2 certification in at least two of the following:

UT (Ultrasonic Testing)

MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection)

DPI/PT (Penetrant Testing)

Eddy Current (EC)

  • Proven experience inspecting high?performance components, ideally within motorsport, aerospace, defence, or precision engineering.
  • Strong understanding of defect classification, reporting standards, and quality documentation.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and material specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach under tight deadlines.

Desirable

  • Experience with carbon composite structures.
  • Previous work in Formula One, WEC, aerospace MRO, or other critical?safety engineering environments.
  • Knowledge of data recording systems (QPulse, SAP, Teamcenter, etc.).
  • Level 3 certification or willingness to upskill.
