Marsden is delighted to be partnering exclusively with a leading multi‑strategy private equity firm seeking a mid‑level lawyer to join its London legal team. This is a high‑impact, hands‑on role suited to someone with strong technical ability, a commercial communication style and a proactive, solutions‑driven approach.
The role offers meaningful responsibility from day one, with clear scope to grow as you deepen your experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Support senior counsel on legal delivery across multiple upcoming fundraises (including flagship strategies)
• Lead on select funds‑related workstreams such as co‑investment syndications, LP secondaries, carry and GP co‑investment schemes, fund finance and special projects
• Act as a day‑to‑day legal contact for operational teams across the firm
• Assist the General Counsel and senior lawyers on broader firm and deal‑related matters
Required Experience
• 3–6 years’ PQE
• Background at a top‑tier law firm with strong private funds / private equity credentials
• Secondment experience with a private equity sponsor beneficial but not essential
• Expertise in private funds (mid–large cap fundraisings and related advisory/transactional work); additional exposure to M&A, tax or regulatory matters is advantageous
Skills & Attributes
• Proactive, relationship‑driven working style with strong collaboration skills
• Commercial, clear and confident communicator, effective with senior and non‑legal stakeholders
• Comfortable taking ownership of significant projects with appropriate guidance
• Strong judgement in managing external counsel and driving practical solutions
• Curious, adaptable and eager to broaden knowledge of the business and wider PE market
