Responsible to: Home Manager Reports to: Cook We are now looking for a temporary General/ Kitchen Assistant to work full-time in our Avila care home in Bessbrook. PAY RATE £12.71 per hour - Temporary Post (No COS available) Our Avila Nursing Home is set in a peaceful, rural setting and provides exceptional care to its 49 residents. The role of General/ Kitchen Assistant is an important role in the nursing home as it looks after the cleanliness of the home. This position could be made permanent in the future. SOME OF THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Undertake general cleaning of all areas within the home including the care of floors, furniture & fittings, toilets, baths & showers, trolleys, radiators and beds The cleaning of kitchen and food preparation areas, dry goods store and dining room including the washing of pots/pans and sink duties Assist in the preparation of food Assist in the service of all meals and snacks Observe the correct use of equipment Report any breakdowns or defects in machinery or materials to the cook or person in charge. Ensure that all liquids, cleaning materials and solvents are locked away at all times. Observe good hygiene practices Report any accident/incident which may occur.
