Equipment Proving Engineer

Job Title: Equipment Proving Engineer (Inside IR35) Location: Stevenage | On-site: Minimum 4 days/week

My Client is seeking a highly motivated and technically capable Equipment Proving Engineer to join a cutting-edge RF development team. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong background in MATLAB and Simulink who enjoys hands-on testing, verification, and automation in a laboratory setting.

You will work closely with systems and RF engineers to translate performance requirements into robust test methodologies.

Responsibilities include the development of automated test frameworks using MATLAB, creating bespoke test tools, and building test rigs to verify and characterise high-performance RF modules. You will analyse test data, investigate anomalies, and provide clear, technically robust evidence to support equipment verification and design assurance.

This position also involves writing and maintaining verification procedures, test cases, and acceptance criteria, supporting design reviews, and contributing to continuous process improvements.

Essential Skills:

• Strong proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink

• Experience writing structured test harness code

• Equipment rig setup and integration of automated test equipment

• Ability to interpret equipment-level requirements and test specifications

• Skilled in test procedure documentation and result analysis

Desirable:

• Experience with RF test equipment and synthetic signal injection

• Familiarity with tools like DOORS NG, Jira, Rhapsody, PLM/Windchill

• Understanding of system schematics and environmental testing
