Background

We seek a Research Assistant to work on a Barts charity funded study to co-design and pilot the first UK whole-school solution focused programme. We will work with a large, all-through (ages 4-18) school in East London to co-design training materials, train school staff in solution focused practice - a strengths-based approach - and evaluate the programme over one academic year. The Research Assistant will work directly with the project leads, Professor Rose McCabe and Dr Fiona Robinson in the School of Health and Psychological Sciences, at City, St. Georges, University of London.

Responsibilities

The Research Assistant will contribute to the day-to-day running of the study, including recruiting and consenting students and school staff, and collecting and analysing outcome and qualitative data. They will also support with training of school staff in solution focused practice.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have a first degree in health or social science, and ideally a Masters degree in Psychology or a related discipline. They will have experience of conducting research in schools with staff, and mental health research with young people. They should have excellent academic and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently in a school setting, and be able to travel between sites in and around London.
