Are you an experienced manager ready to lead a dynamic team of technical professionals? Were looking for a people-first leader who can guide, mentor, and inspire a team of 11 Support and Infrastructure Engineers—ranging from junior to senior level—while driving high performance and operational excellence.
The RoleAs Technical Team Manager, your focus is leadership, not hands-on tech. Youll be the go-to for performance management, workflow coordination, and customer engagement, while working closely with internal leadership to track and improve team performance. Your technical knowledge will help you understand the work and support the team, but your strength lies in managing people, processes, and outcomes.
What Youll Do-
Lead and manage a technical team (Support Engineers, Infrastructure & Network Engineers)

Oversee workflow, absence, and performance management

Report on team performance and present insights to senior leadership

Coordinate closely with software delivery teams on deployments

Act as the escalation point for customer issues and team challenges

Drive a culture of continuous improvement and career development

Proven experience managing technical teams (5+ people ideally)

Strong background in performance management and reporting

Knowledge of IT infrastructure (Windows OS, Active Directory, Exchange, VMware, etc.)

Understanding of networking concepts (Cisco/Juniper devices)

Experience collaborating with software teams or deployments

Highly organised with strong documentation and tracking skills

Confident communicator across all levels - from engineers to execs

SC Clearance (or eligible)

ITIL knowledge/certification a bonus (well fund it if you dont have it)

Linux knowledge is a nice-to-have

Previous involvement in recruitment and team growth is a big plus

Salary up to £48,000
