The Role
As a Transport Central Coordinator, youll join our Transport Operations team within the purpose-built Transport Coordination Centre (TCC). This is the central hub responsible for real-time oversight, decision-making, and communication across the entire Games transport network.
Your mission will be to help orchestrate the safe and efficient movement of thousands of people and hundreds of vehicles across competition venues, athlete villages, training sites, media zones, and key city locations. You will be the eyes and ears of the operation, monitoring live data feeds, escalating issues, and ensuring everyone has up-to-date information to keep services flowing smoothly.
Youll work closely with venue transport teams, control centre colleagues, contractors, public agencies, and client group representatives to deliver transport operations that are professional, coordinated, and ready to adapt to any challenge. From handling day-to-day service performance to supporting critical incident responses, youll play a vital role in ensuring Glasgow 2026 achieves its ambition of an inclusive, seamless transport experience for all participants.

Job Summary:
As a Transport Central Coordinator for Glasgow 2026, youll play a vital role at the heart of Games-time transport operations. Based in the Transport Coordination Centre, youll monitor live vehicle movements, track service performance, maintain accurate records, and communicate with venue teams and partners to keep everything running smoothly.
This fast-paced role is ideal for someone organised, calm under pressure, and passionate about delivering seamless experiences for athletes, officials, media, and workforce across a world-class sporting event.
Key Skills and Experience:
To succeed in this role, you will have experience working in transport, logistics, event operations, customer service, or a control centre environment. You will bring strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to remain clear, calm, and courteous in fast-moving or high-pressure situations. Attention to detail is essential, along with proven ability to manage real-time data and operational records accurately.
You should be confident using technology, including Microsoft Office tools, transport or scheduling systems, and radio or communications equipment. Being highly organised and responsive, you will be comfortable prioritising tasks effectively in a dynamic environment and working collaboratively within a shift-based team that operates extended hours.
It would be an advantage if you have previous experience supporting major multi-sport events, festivals, or other large-scale operations, as well as an understanding of how Games-time transport systems function for athletes, officials, media, and workforce. Familiarity with vehicle tracking platforms, dispatch software, or incident management tools, and knowledge of command-and-control centre operations, will be beneficial. An understanding of Glasgows geography, venues, and local transport networks would also be valuable.
