About the Role

Gentech Recruitment is pleased to be working in partnership with our client based in Newry, who are currently expanding their team. They are now seeking an experienced and driven Wedding & Events Executive to join their organisation.

Job Purpose

The Wedding & Events Executive will manage all incoming wedding, event, and corporate enquiries (via phone and email), guiding each client journey from initial enquiry through to successful conversion. The role also involves ensuring a smooth and efficient handover to the operations team for event delivery, facilitated through weekly operations meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of all wedding, event, and corporate enquiries, ensuring effective management and conversion
  • Coordinate all guest requirements, maintaining clear and professional communication both verbally and in writing, from enquiry stage through to operational handover
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of hotel operations, including menu planning, food presentation, room set-ups, audio-visual requirements, and banquet service standards
  • Collaborate closely with Conference & Banqueting, Operations, and Kitchen teams to ensure each event is delivered seamlessly and to an exceptional standard
  • Accurately manage bookings using internal systems, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and integrity at all times
  • Support the delivery of the weddings and events sales strategy, contributing to departmental KPIs
  • Adhere to brand standards and represent Killeavy Castle Estate professionally at all times
  • Maintain a commercial focus by identifying revenue opportunities while delivering outstanding guest experiences
  • Oversee financial processes for events, including invoicing and revenue collection
  • Manage accommodation blocks and meeting space allocations for assigned groups
  • Conduct engaging and persuasive site visits and show rounds to convert prospective clients
  • Proactively re-engage previous clients to generate repeat business opportunities

Essential Criteria

  • Qualification in Hospitality/Event Management or a minimum of two years relevant experience within the hospitality industry
  • Proven success in selling weddings, meetings, and conferences
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong IT skills
  • Excellent reporting and presentation abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
