Job Description Job Title: Agricultural Machinery Engineer Location: Wardon Hill, Dorchester, DT29 PW Pay: Very Competitive Rates (commensurate with experience) Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Hours: Monday to Friday with availability for weekend on call rota and out of hours breakdown cover G Crook & Sons Ltd (GCS Agricentre) are expanding and looking for Agricultural Engineers or aspiring Apprentices to join our teams at our Shaftesbury and Dorchester branches. With growing sales of CASE IH tractors, handlers, and associated equipment , we are increasing our engineering support team to meet demand. This is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career within the agricultural sector, supported by industry-leading manufacturer training . The Role Working as both part of a team and on your own you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing agricultural machinery supplied by our franchise partners, ensuring high standards of workmanship and safety at all times. The role includes participation in an “on-call” rota to attend breakdowns outside normal working hours, which is paid in addition to your standard salary. Key Responsibilities Service and repair agricultural machinery to a high standard Diagnose faults using modern computer diagnostic systems Maintain strong attention to detail in all aspects of work Adhere to all health & safety regulations and PPE requirements Participate in a call-out rota , including evenings and weekends during busy periods Ensure safety of both staff and customers at all times What We Provide Competitive salary based on experience and ability Modern vans for mobile engineers Specialist tools, equipment, and ongoing product training Opportunities for career development with leading manufacturers Potential tied accommodation for those relocating (Note: Engineers are expected to supply their own standard tools.) About You Essential: Mechanical engineering knowledge Full UK driving licence Good understanding of health & safety practices Ability to use diagnostic systems Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Self-motivated with a proactive, “can-do” attitude Desirable: Agricultural engineering qualifications or relevant industry experience Previous experience in machinery engineering (3+ years preferred) Agricultural background or sector knowledge We are also open to candidates without agricultural experience who have transferable skills and a strong willingness to learn.
