We are currently hiring BANK Lifestyle Support Workers to join our inspiring and friendly Cornwall Community Rehabilitation Service Team, St Austell

Rethink Mental Illness are an organisation whose common purpose is to help those who are severely impacted by mental illness.

Our Cornwall community service offeres support to people aged 18 years and over, who are living with a mental illness and live in Cornwall.

We work with people to identify their aims and goals and to create individual action plans to achieve these.

Our service offers one to one support in the community as well as a timetable staff led and peer support groups in various locations across the county.

How you will make a difference as a Lifestyle Support Worker:

• Establish a supportive and respectful relationship with service users to raise aspirations to access opportunities and increase confidence.

• Directly support the therapy team to deliver effective and meaningful interventions.

• Support the development and delivery of Community Mental Health Services across the trust.

• Ensure that service user's goals are integrated into the Trust's care plan and are reviewed on a regular basis with care co-ordinators as necessary.

• To attend and participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings.

• Be involved in recruitment processes, including supporting with interviews and local induction programmes.

• To work under the regular supervision of the team supervisor and guidance of other professional colleagues 

Essential skills and experience required for this role:

  • I have experience of providing support to people with a mental illness in a comparable role
  • I have excellent administration, organisation and planning skills. 
  • I am competent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft applications, email and internet.
  • A driving licence in compulsory. These are field-based roles covering East or West Cornwall. Access to own transport and the means to travel independently across the geographical area for business purposes is essential.
