Our client, a leading educational organisation in Lambeth, London, is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Behaviour Mentor to join their dynamic team. This exciting opportunity offers a competitive salary of £110 - £111 per day, making it an excellent choice for experienced professionals seeking a rewarding role.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will be responsible for supporting and guiding young learners in developing positive behavioural patterns. Your role will be instrumental in creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where students can thrive academically and emotionally. You will work closely with teachers, counsellors, and other support staff to implement tailored strategies that address individual student needs.

Key responsibilities of the Behaviour Mentor role include:

  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to students struggling with behavioural challenges, helping them develop self-regulation skills and positive coping mechanisms.
  • Collaborating with teachers to identify and address the root causes of disruptive behaviours, and implementing effective intervention strategies.
  • Maintaining detailed records of student progress, behavioural incidents, and the interventions implemented, ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Facilitating targeted workshops and group activities that promote social-emotional learning, conflict resolution, and positive decision-making.
  • Liaising with parents/guardians to foster a strong partnership and ensure a consistent approach to behaviour management both at school and at home.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of the school's behaviour policy, ensuring it aligns with best practices and meets the needs of the student population.
  • Providing guidance and mentoring to other staff members on effective behaviour management techniques.
  • Participating in relevant training and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices in the field of behaviour management.

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field, with a strong understanding of child and adolescent development.
  • Extensive experience working with young people in a mentoring, coaching, or teaching capacity, particularly in addressing behavioural challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Creativity and adaptability, with the ability to tailor your approach to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • A deep commitment to promoting inclusive and equitable educational practices.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check (or the willingness to obtain one).
