Scot JCB Group are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our busy finance team. We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised, and eager to develop their career in finance. You’ll have a positive attitude, good attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. Hours: Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 5pm, based at our Dennistoun office Salary: Dependant on experience Who are we? The Scot JCB Group is made up of Scot JCB, Scot Agri, and Stewart Plant Sales. Scot JCB has been supplying and servicing JCB machinery throughout Scotland and the North of England for over 60 years. We sold our first machine in 1956 and have grown into a highly specialised machinery distribution company operating through a network of 14 depots from Huntly in the Northeast of Scotland to Carnforth in Lancashire. Scot JCB is the largest JCB distributor in the UK and we pride ourselves on providing our customers with world class service. Key Responsibilities: Process and reconcile invoices and payments Help prepare weekly payment runs Maintain and update financial records and ledgers Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable Respond to financial queries from internal teams or external partners Collecting debts by telephone, letter or email to ensure customers adhere to agreed terms Investigating disputed items and ensuring these are followed up by the relevant department Maintaining records of unresolved disputes and highlighting these to senior management Updating customer details and opening new accounts Balance Sheets reconciliation Other duties within the accounts team such as answering phone calls, processing incoming and outgoing mail etc Providing a professional service to both customers and employees Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar role (1-2 years preferred) A solid understanding of basic accounting principles Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Good team spirit, able to work well with colleagues at all levels in the business In return you will receive: A competitive salary, reviewed yearly 30 days annual leave, increasing with length of service up to a total of 35 days The option to buy/sell up to 5 days annual leave per year Health and wellbeing plan - cashback for dentist, opticians, physio and more Employee Assistance Programme - free counselling and legal advice Access to high street discounts and savings through Perks Contributory pension scheme Life assurance of three times your annual salary Employee referral programme41bf1e1f-b16b-4260-a40a-17c77a06fd15
