Job Description The Role We are seeking a Criminal Duty Solicitor / Lawyer with at least 2 years PQE to join an expanding criminal defence department. Candidates will be required to attend police station duties in Hertfordshire and Essex for clients who are in custody. Police station attendance may be required out-of-hours on various duty rotas, to ensure 24/7 coverage. You may be required to represent clients at the Magistrates’ Court for bail applications, pleas, and trials. Candidates must be able to manage a diverse caseload of criminal matters from inception to conclusion. The option to work remotely will be considered to meet duty rotas at unsociable hours. Knowledge of LEAP is a bonus but not required. Requirements & Qualifications Duty Status: Current Police Station Qualification and Criminal Litigation Accreditation (Duty Solicitor Status) are essential. Flexibility: A willingness to work on a rota basis, including nights and weekends for police station attendance.
