Diplomate/Residency-Trained Clinician/RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Internal Medicine Colchester Veterinary Referral & ECC Hospital, North Essex, UK Full-time/Part-time options available We are seeking an ECVIM-CA/ACVIM Diplomate (or residency-trained/board-eligible clinician) or RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Internal Medicine to join us and help shape our new, purpose-built referral hospital in North Essex. Challenging & Diverse Caseload: Manage a rich mix of complex medical referrals and critical care cases - from acute endocrine, respiratory, gastrointestinal, neurological and oncological emergencies to chronic disease management and interventional procedures. Expect a high proportion of second-opinion and referral work with excellent case variety and depth. Freedom to Lead & Shape: You decide how your days flow, with dedicated time carved out for deep case analysis and thoughtful diagnostics. Beyond that, you hold genuine authority to design clinical protocols, pioneer new services, explore research-driven improvements, and introduce best-in-class pathways - all without layers of corporate approval slowing you down. Mentoring & Leadership Opportunities: Share your knowledge by mentoring interns, certificate candidates and advanced practitioners. There is scope to develop subspecialty interests (e.g., neurology, oncology, cardiology, interventional endoscopy) and lead service development. 24/7 In-House Care: No out of hours work or on call needed as our dedicated night ECC team of advanced practitioners and residency trained clinicians provide a very high standard of continuous hospitalisation and monitoring, so you can focus on daytime complex cases with complete confidence in overnight patient care.
