Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Finance Manager to join their senior leadership team. With a turnover in excess of £4 million and a workforce of 100+, this organisation plays a vital role in supporting adults and children with care needs throughout the region. This is an opportunity to bring strategic financial leadership to a mission-driven team making a tangible difference in people's lives.
This is a pivotal role for an experienced finance professional seeking to apply their expertise in a purpose-led organisation. As Finance Manager, you will lead on all financial matters, reporting directly to the CEO and supporting the board in informed decision-making. You'll drive budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and financial reporting, while overseeing a small finance team and managing external audit relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organisational goals
Lead on annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and financial planning
Produce timely and accurate management accounts and board reports
Ensure compliance with relevant financial legislation and reporting standards
Oversee day-to-day finance operations, cash flow, and funding streams
Support grant management, ensuring robust tracking and reporting
Manage and develop a finance team of 2 administrators and a payroll specialist
Liaise with external accountants and auditors during year-end processes
Present financial updates to the Board of Trustees with clarity and confidence
About You
Professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or part-qualified with credible experience working alongside external financial advisors
Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally within the charity or care sector
Skilled in financial reporting, compliance, and systems oversight
Strong analytical thinker with attention to detail
Confident communicator, able to present financial matters to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
High levels of integrity, with a genuine alignment to values-led work
Experience managing or mentoring a small team is desirable
