Chartered Geotechnical Engineer – Renewables Infrastructure

Location: Hybrid / Bristol

What You’ll Be Doing

As the technical lead for geotechnical engineering, you’ll play a key role in managing ground-related risks and delivering practical, buildable solutions across projects from early feasibility through to construction.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading ground investigation strategies, procurement, and interpretation
  • Producing and reviewing geotechnical designs, reports, and specifications (Eurocode 7, BS standards)
  • Managing geotechnical risk across the full project lifecycle
  • Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical oversight
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Supporting bids, proposals, and commercial discussions
  • Promoting safe, sustainable, and innovative engineering practices
  • Embedding ESG principles into project delivery and decision-making

What We’re Looking For

  • Chartered status (CGeol or CEng) preferred
  • Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Engineering Geology is highly desirable
  • Strong experience in ground investigation, lab testing, and geotechnical analysis tools
  • A track record of delivering projects across multiple sectors
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts
  • Willingness to travel to sites and occasional office locations
  • Full UK driving licence due to site travel

Nice to Have

  • Experience in solar PV, structural steel, or modular construction
  • Exposure to innovation programmes, product development, or ESG frameworks
