Summary
We're looking for a GI Analyst to develop and manage a shared GIS data platform and standards, providing data analysis and mapping support for the recently launched Mourne Gullion Landscape Connections project. You'll work alongside the wider project team, partners and stakeholders to support the successful delivery of the project's development phase initially.
You'll work 30 hours per week. We're flexible on the working pattern. You'll generally work within standard business hours, but specific days and working times can be agreed to meet the project needs and your circumstances.
This role is hosted by the National Trust and works across a range of partners and funders. It is a fixed-term position until August 2028. As this is a partnership role, applications will be shared with project partners (Mourne Heritage Trust, NI Water and Newry Mourne & Down District Council) as part of the assessment process.
Mourne Gullion Landscape Connections is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we can come together to sustain and restore the Mourne AONB and Ring of Gullion AONB landscape.

Your contractual location will be Murlough National Nature Reserve, Dundrum and you'll be required to work 40 to 60% of your time working in a non-home location. This can include a National Trust or partner office. Some travel throughout the project area may be required. Occasional travel may be required to other parts of Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and the rest of the UK.

What you'll be doing
You'll be responsible for development and delivery of the Data Management Action Plan, developing and maintaining a shared GIS-based data platform, common data standards and processes to support effective information management across all project partners. You'll provide data collation, analysis, mapping and reporting support, ensuring consistent, high-quality data is available to inform decision-making and measure project outcomes throughout the Mourne Gullion Landscape Connections project.
You'll work collaboratively across a wide-ranging partnership, helping to build shared understanding, strengthen relationships and coordinate efforts across organisational and land ownership boundaries to deliver the Mourne Gullion Landscape Connections project. You'll champion a collaborative approach, bringing together partners, landowners and stakeholders to break down barriers, align expertise and deliver shared conservation outcomes.
Who we're looking for
You'll bring a broad range of the following knowledge, skills and experience, shaped by previous roles or career paths, and the judgment to apply them effectively;
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
Expert knowledge of GIS software and tools, particularly the ESRI ArcGIS suite.
Familiarity with spatial data governance, metadata standards and regulatory compliance.
Advanced geospatial analysis and spatial modelling.
GIS application development using modern web-based tools, including ArcGIS Online.
Spatial database design, schema development and data management.
Automation and scripting using Python, SQL or ModelBuilder.
Experience supporting evidence-based decision-making through spatial insights.
