OXBO are working with a fast-growing microgrid company based in London, delivering innovative energy solutions across electricity, water, gas, and telecom networks. Their energy solutions include private wire solar & BESS as well as CHP solutions for major energy users
They are seeking a Grid Connection Manager to lead and manage all utility connection activities across their projects. This role is a unique opportunity for a technically-minded professional to work at the intersection of multiple utility networks and play a key role in their expansion.
This is a hybrid role with a requirement to work 1-2 days out of their London offices.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage grid connection projects for electricity, water, gas, and telecom networks from feasibility to commissioning.
Develop and execute connection strategies, liaising with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), water and gas utilities, and telecom providers.
Prepare and submit applications, technical studies, and proposals to regulators and utility companies.
Coordinate with internal project teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure timely and cost-effective connections.
Monitor regulatory changes and industry best practices to ensure compliance and optimize connection processes.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for utility connection activities.
Requirements
Proven experience in electricity grid connections, within microgrids, renewable energy, or distributed energy systems.
Knowledge of non-electric utilities connections (water, gas, telecoms) and associated regulatory frameworks preferred.
Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Eligibility to live and work in the UK
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field.
Experience working with UK Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and utility providers.
Understanding of integrated microgrid design and operation.
