About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. This role involves working closely with pupils who have a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will play a vital role in helping each child access the curriculum, develop independence, and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one or small-group support
Encourage and promote independence, confidence, and self-esteem in pupils
Support with behaviour management using positive and proactive approaches
Help prepare and adapt classroom resources to meet individual needs
Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding of all pupils
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential)
Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt and respond to the needs of individual pupils
A proactive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
