Occupational Therapist (Dimentia) - Antrim

Vanrath are delighted to be partnering with HSCNI to recruit on their behalf a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join their community team.

In this role you will provide a comprehensive occupational therapy service within a variety of community settings for adults who have a diagnosis of dementia.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • To carry a specific caseload to include complex clients with dementia and be responsible for organising and prioritising a varied workload
  • To assist Principal Occupational Therapist with the system for screening, prioritisation and allocation of cases within an agreed framework to include self allocation and discharge planning.
  • To carry out and record comprehensive assessments, using standardised assessments where possible. Initiate and follow through training, treatment plans and provision of services, which will foster independence and/or optimize levels of functioning, and holistic needs within the clients own environment.
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in multidisciplinary meetings to discuss patient progress and outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and ensure there is an understanding of their condition.

Essential Criteria:

  • Occupational Therapy Degree (UK recognised)
  • HCPC Registered
  • Member of RCOT or Unison
  • Previous 2 years minimum OT experience

Salary:
