Lead Quality Excellence in Defence Engineering

The role

As a Project Quality Lead, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll be at the forefront of ensuring our Missile Tube Assemblies meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. This is a pivotal role where your leadership will directly impact national defence capabilities, customer satisfaction, and the integrity of our engineering outputs.

Day-to-day you'll be:

  • Leading the delivery of QA/QC outputs to schedule and budget
  • Managing supply chain assurance and integrity, including supplier assessments and certifications
  • Driving quality governance through audits, non-conformance control, and corrective actions
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for customer quality teams
  • Promoting a strong quality culture across all levels of the organisation

This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Friday and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience of the Project Quality Lead

  • Proven experience in QA/QC leadership roles
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Demonstrated commitment to Babcock's principles and values
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

Qualifications for the Project Quality Lead

  • HNC in a relevant subject (minimum requirement)
  • Membership with the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI)
  • IRCA Certified Lead Auditor
  • Preferred: Leadership or supervisory qualification
  • Preferred: Lean Management qualification
