We require a Purchasing Assistant to join our clients team in Peterborough on a temporary contract The Purchasing Assistant ensures that all required materials are available to support uninterrupted production and on-time delivery. The role maintains accurate planning and ERP data, monitors stock levels and proactively adjusts supply plans to avoid shortages. Working closely with suppliers, Production, Procurement and Logistics, the Purchasing Assistant manages order acknowledgements, resolves delivery or inventory discrepancies, raises purchase orders in line with stock strategies, and escalates supply risks and proposed solutions to keep operations running efficiently and cost-effectively. Duties will be: • Monitor material availability and adjust supply plans proactively. • Input and maintain accurate data in ERP and planning systems. • Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely material delivery. • Maintain accurate material requirements and stock levels for all stocked SKUs. • Support resolving inventory discrepancies. • Escalate supply risks and propose solutions. • Raise POs to ensure stock is available to cover the stock strategy targets. • Communicate with suppliers on any delivery discrepancies or supplier defects • Check order acknowledgements Apply now or call (phone number removed) for more information
