Senior Legal Counsel – Financial Services (6 - 10 PQE)

Hybrid working – 1-2 days per week in London

A FTSE 250, FCA-regulated financial services business is looking to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel to support its Financial Services division. This is a broad, business-facing role offering real ownership, variety, and the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders across a fast-paced and evolving organisation.

This role will suit a commercially minded lawyer with strong financial services experience who enjoys partnering with the business and delivering pragmatic, solutions-focused advice. You will act as the primary legal partner to the Financial Services team, advising across a range of products and initiatives while supporting the development of new offerings from concept through to launch.

Key responsibilities include:

• Advising on a range of products including insurance, consumer credit and payment-related offerings
• Supporting the development and launch of new financial products and services
• Negotiating and advising on key supplier and commercial agreements
• Providing input into customer-facing documentation including terms and conditions, marketing materials and policies
• Partnering with internal teams including product, technology, marketing and customer support
• Managing legal and regulatory risk in an FCA-regulated environment

About you:

• Qualified lawyer with around 6-10 PQE and a strong financial services/fintech background
• Experience advising within an FCA-regulated environment
• In-house experience (or a secondment) is essential
• Strong commercial contracting and negotiation skills
• Experience working with product, technology and marketing teams
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, consumer-facing business
• Open to using legal technology and tools as part of day-to-day practice
