Solar PV Sales Executive

We are seeking an experienced Residential Solar PV Sales Representative to advise homeowners on renewable energy solutions, including Solar PV, battery storage, and related technologies. The role requires strong technical knowledge, a clear understanding of MCS standards, and the ability to design, explain, and sell compliant systems that deliver genuine value to customers.

You will act as a trusted technical advisor, guiding customers from initial enquiry through system design, proposal, and contract, ensuring all solutions meet MCS, DNO, and industry best-practice requirements.

Applicants must have solar experience

Solar PV Sales & Customer Engagement

  • Manage inbound and high quality, warm residential solar leads from initial contact to close (no cold calling)
  • Conduct site surveys (remote and in-person) to assess roof suitability, shading, orientation, and structural considerations
  • Present clear, accurate proposals explaining system size, generation, savings, payback, and export benefits
  • Build trust with customers through transparent, technically accurate advice
  • Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets and KPIs

Solar PV Sales Executive, Technical & Compliance

  • Design compliant residential Solar PV and battery systems in line with MCS standards
  • Ensure all proposed systems are suitable for MCS certification and grant/export eligibility (e.g. SEG)
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of:
  • Solar PV system design and sizing Inverters, batteries, optimisers, and monitoring platforms, Roof mounting systems and structural considerations, Generation estimates and yield calculations, Self-consumption vs export strategies
  • Liaise with design, installation, and DNO teams to ensure accurate handover
  • Ensure all information provided to customers is technically correct and compliant

Administration & Handover

  • Accurately record all customer data, site details, and system designs on CRM systems
  • Provide complete and accurate handover packs to operations and installation teams
  • Support customers through the pre-installation process where required

Solar PV Sales Executive Required Skills & Experience:

Essential

  • Proven experience selling residential Solar PV systems
  • Strong understanding of MCS requirements and compliance
  • In-depth technical knowledge of Solar PV and battery storage systems
  • Ability to confidently explain technical concepts to non-technical customers
  • Strong closing skills with an ethical, consultative sales approach
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Experience with PV design software (e.g. OpenSolar, Easy-PV, PV*Sol, SolarEdge Designer)
  • Knowledge of DNO application processes (G98 / G99)
  • Understanding of export tariffs (SEG) and smart metering
  • Previous experience selling Solar PV products.
