Business Development Account Executive - LegalTech
The Opportunity
Were looking for an ambitious, self-starting Business Development Sales Executive to join our LegalTech sales team at OpenText. This is a quota-carrying role, ideal for a seasoned Sales Development Representative looking to step up, or an emerging Account Executive keen to accelerate their career.
Youll focus on selling OpenTexts market-leading eDiscovery and LegalTech solutions into enterprise, law firm, and public sector accounts. That means generating your own leads, developing new business opportunities, and actively supporting the wider LegalTech regional sales team. Youll help build a strong network of prospective clients, promote our solution in the market, and contribute to closing strategic opportunities. Its a role for someone who can work independently, hold their own quota, and collaborate well with others to drive success.
In addition to building your own portfolio, you will partner with existing team members to develop their book of business, this isnt about simply booking meetings or passing leads, you will develop nurture campaigns to penetrate and drive strategic account development. Youll play a key role in how OpenText brings its LegalTech solutions to market — helping legal and compliance teams across sectors discover smarter ways to manage risk, respond to litigation, and modernise their operations.
What Youll Be Doing
• Identifying and engaging decision-makers within enterprise, legal, and public sector accounts alongside the existing AE / account owner• Building and growing new customer relationships, while nurturing existing ones• Selling directly with a focus on LegalTech and eDiscovery solutions• Developing your own pipeline and owning the full sales cycle from prospecting to close • Collaborating with the regional LegalTech sales team and partner ecosystem to pursue larger opportunities• Creating tailored, insight-led business cases for each customer• Using modern virtual tools to build meaningful, productive relationships• Staying curious, creative, and commercially aware as you look for new opportunities• Participation and engagement around marketing events and campaigns
What Youll Bring• Experience in inside sales or business development, ideally in software or SaaS• Knowledge of LegalTech or eDiscovery solutions• Confidence working independently and owning a personal sales quota• A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong communication skills• The ability to balance high activity levels with strategic thinking• A collaborative, team-first approach and a strong sense of accountability• Motivation to grow your skills and career within a global tech business
