A bit about the job:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Application Modernisation & Strategy to lead our efforts in optimising our Cloud applications and streamlining our technologies. This role is pivotal in ensuring our technology is agile, efficient, and future-ready.

• Lead strategy and execution of application modernisation and rationalisation initiatives
• Simplify and optimise existing cloud applications to enhance performance and scalability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish best practices for cloud architecture
• Drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance with standards and security protocols, and foster innovation in cloud technologies
• Mentor and develop a high-performing team of engineers and architects while staying abreast of emerging trends in cloud computing

• Proven experience in cloud application modernisation and simplification
• Strong leadership and engineering skills
• Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

• National salary circa £110,000 and London salary circa £130,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
