Statutory Compliance Co-ordinator Gas & Electrical Safety (Housing)(Full Time) (Permanent) - REN12620
There is an opportunity available to join our Compliance Team within the Housing Investment team of Environment, Housing and Infrastructure of Renfrewshire Council.
As part of the team, you will be responsible for taking the lead on the strategic management of Statutory Compliance and Regulatory undertakings related to HRA assets including the inspection and service regimes related to Gas and Electric Safety to ensure that Renfrewshire Communities and Housing Services (RCHS) is fully compliant and reduces any residual risk to its, tenants, employees and third parties. Support the Procurement and Delivery of statutory compliance contracts, internal and external Quality Control/Quality Assurance arrangements and Monitoring and Reporting on performance.
You will assist in the development and delivery of the strategic approach to effectively managing Landlord Compliance statutory obligations and regulatory undertakings that reduces the risk, to customers, employees and third parties.
Responsibility for strategic Statutory Compliance Safety Management is to ensure a complete end to end Landlord Compliance service with regards the following areas: - Gas Safety (including Other Forms of Heating e.g., Solid Fuel, solar, Ground/ Air source heat pumps) and Electric Safety (including ECIR, Lightening Protection, Power Operated Doors, Gates, and Barriers).
You must have an HNC or equivalent in construction or maintenance related discipline as well as one of the following: GASESAFE Level 4 VRQ in Gas Safety Management in Social Housing Or equivalent, BS 7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations. IEE Wiring Regulations or similar electrical qualification for Fixed Electrical Equipment and Portable Appliance Testing regimes.
You will be a self-motivated individual with experience of Statutory Health and Safety Compliance within the Social Housing Sector with particular experience in one or more of the following areas Gas Safety and or Electrical Safety, Capable of working on your own initiative with effective communication skills, IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft office software packages. Organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload is also essential.
Knowledge of relevant health and safety issues within a compliance and maintenance/construction field including knowledge of current legislation relating to Gas Servicing, or Electrical installation or Legionella prevention is essential.
Experience in a similar role within a local authority or Housing Association and a full driving licence are desirable.
