Vulnerable children in the UK need your help

Wherever you work in the Action for Children family, youll be helping to change the lives of the most vulnerable children in the UK.

Last year, we helped more than 670,000 children and families across the UK. From direct work in communities to national campaigning, we are focused on making sure every child has a safe and happy childhood, and the foundations they need to thrive.

Why Action for Children?

Working here is more than a job. Everyone in the Action for Children family is passionate about protecting and supporting children. Its the sense of purpose that drives us every single day. Because we know that, when we work together, we can make a huge difference to bring lasting improvements to vulnerable childrens lives.

A bit about the role

"The service is out of this world and our son has really changed dramatically in a positive way by using the outreach service. The main positive is the staff and their understanding of his needs. They treat him like an individual and include him in everything. It is a vital service and our son loves it."

Renfrewshire Outreach Support works in partnership with Renfrewshire Council to provide support to children, young people who have additional needs and their families within the context of community outreach support.

We support young people to access resources in the community such as local parks, cinema, bowling, shopping etc. Support can be on an individual basis, small groups and larger groups. The aim of the group is to provide stimulating activities for our young people in a group setting.

Youll work as part of a well supported and trained team who work hard to achieve positive outcomes for our young people through group work and befriending.

The hours will include working 3-4 evenings per week and every second weekend during term time. During school holidays the expectation will be to work days and weekends but also with a degree of flexibility to suit the needs of the families.
