The Role:

• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs to minimise downtime;
• Repair faults on-site or coordinate the installation of replacement machinery or equipment where necessary;
• Inspect, overhaul, maintain, repair, and replace worn or defective components to ensure the safe and reliable operation of plant and equipment;
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with maintenance schedules to maximise equipment performance and reliability;
• Complete all scheduled maintenance activities efficiently while complying with company health and safety policies and procedures;
• Complete product changeovers on production equipment in accordance with production schedules and standard operating procedures;
• Work collaboratively with external contractors on site, ensuring all food safety, quality, and health and safety standards are fully adhered to.

The Person:

• Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within a food manufacturing or production environment;
• Strong fault-finding, repair, and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) skills on mechanical and/or electrical equipment;
• Good understanding of food safety, health and safety legislation, and safe working practices;
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritise workload, and communicate well as part of a team.

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering.

Hours of work are on a two week rotating pattern: Week 1: Monday to Friday 6.00am-2.30pm Week 2: Monday to Friday 2.00pm-10.30pm.
