About us

Halfords is a leading UK provider of motoring and cycling services, with a diverse and increasingly service-led portfolio that includes specialist retail, an extensive garages network, Commercial Fleet Services, and a growing B2B offering. Our Commercial Fleet Services business plays a critical role in keeping commercial customers and businesses moving, delivering essential vehicle maintenance, compliance and on-demand services at scale.

As a key ambassador of the Halfords Commercial Fleet Services (HCFS) values, youll foster a customer-centric, engaged culture across Universal Fleet Services, Lodge Tyre Fleet Services and McConechys Commercial Fleet Services operating 24/7 365 days a year managing commercial breakdowns.

About the Role

We are seeking a commercially minded, detail-driven Fleet Tyre Auditor to safeguard accuracy, integrity, and profitability across both third-party service partners and the CFS network. Your work will ensure best practice is consistently delivered, customer satisfaction is protected, and contracts are retained at strong commercial value.

This is a high-visibility role working closely with Depot Managers, fleet customers, and manufacturers to optimise tyre utilisation, improve cost recovery, and elevate operational standards. You will challenge inefficiencies, identify risks, and drive sustainable improvements that deliver measurable financial and operational benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead tyre audits across fleet operations, including a minimum of five planned inspections and ten spot-check fitment reviews per week, documenting all non-compliance and inappropriate fitting practices
  • Strengthen relationships with Depot Managers, fleet customers, internal teams, and third-party providers to drive consistent adherence to tyre policies and best practice
  • Produce weekly audit plans, investigate areas of concern raised by the F4F Operations Manager and prioritise high-value locations to maximise commercial impact
  • Identify opportunities for cost recovery, improved profitability, and enhanced tyre utilisation through data analysis and on-site findings
  • Deliver clear reporting and actionable insights that support operational decision-making, governance improvements and policy compliance
  • Champion continuous improvement by sharing best practice, recommending data-led enhancements and contributing to scalable audit processes as the function grows

About You

  • Established experience within commercial tyre market or fleet
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide, including overnight stays when required
  • Experience using audit-capture tools is highly desirable
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations is advantageous
  • Strong commercial awareness with a focus on cost optimisation and financial value
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and communicate audit concerns fairly and effectively
  • Proactive, self-motivated and confident working independently
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities

Reward & benefits

  • Commitment and dedication to your ongoing personal and professional development. We help you to own and grow your potential so you can be at your best in your current role and to support your future career aspirations.
  • You will have access to a wealth of employee discounts across the Halfords suite of products and services.
  • Wellbeing and inclusion are at the heart of our colleague experience. We offer resources and ongoing support to enhance your wellbeing at work and active Colleague Networks supporting inclusion initiatives across Halfords.

Not sure you meet all the criteria? We'd encourage you to take the wheel and apply anyway! At Halfords we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace for our colleagues. We're an equal opportunities employer and proud to welcome applications from all backgrounds and embrace diversity within our one Halfords Family.
