In-House Lawyer 4 PQE Commercial Contracts & Legal Compliance Lancashire | Hybrid & Flexible Competitive Salary & Benefits Haggerty Jaques is delighted to be recruiting an in-house lawyer to join a market-leading international business. This is a chance to step into a small, close-knit legal team where your legal and commercial input will be valued and will have impact. The role has been created to support continued growth in both the UK and internationally and will suit a commercial, pragmatic solicitor who enjoys variety, responsibility and working closely with the business. The Role As an in-house lawyer - and working alongside an experienced Head of Legal - you will play a key role in strengthening the in-house commercial and compliance capability. While you will be supported by the Head of Legal where required, this is very much a role in which you will be trusted to run matters independently and act as a go-to legal adviser for stakeholders. Your in-house role will include: Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial, data and tech agreements, primarily sales-focused with some procurement exposure Supporting tender processes, reviewing documentation and ensuring compliance with internal controls Advising on legal risk and ensuring contracts align with commercial objectives Assisting with corporate and company secretarial matters, including statutory filings Working closely with the Legal Compliance Manager on regulatory and compliance issues, including data protection, anti-bribery, AML and competition law Helping to develop and maintain group-wide compliance frameworks Providing clear, practical advice to the wider business and empowering stakeholders to manage risk effectively Developing and refining legal templates, guidance notes and internal resources to drive efficiency The Team & Culture This is a small and friendly legal team. The culture is collaborative rather than hierarchical, with a strong emphasis on trust and autonomy. The business is recognised as a leader in its field yet retains a refreshingly down-to-earth and people-focused approach. Location & Working Pattern The role offers hybrid and remote working, with some office presence required in Lancashire from time to time Candidates are likely to be able to commute from the Manchester, Lancashire, Calderdale or Merseyside areas Homeworking is commonplace and flexibility is embedded in the culture Working patterns are open to discussion and will be shaped around the right individual About You You will be: A UK qualified solicitor with 4 years’ PQE Experienced in commercial contracts, with exposure to legal compliance matters Commercially minded, solutions-focused and confident managing stakeholders at all levels Corporate experience is welcomed but not essential Corporate lawyers with good exposure to commercial agreements will be considered Why This Role? This is a rare opportunity to join a high-quality in-house legal team within a business that genuinely values its people and takes a flexible, grown-up approach to work. This in-house role offers a broad and interesting workload with real autonomy, close exposure to an international and fast-growing business, and the chance to work alongside supportive, down-to-earth stakeholders who value pragmatic legal advice. If this sounds like the kind of in-house lawyer role and environment in which you would thrive, please apply. Any references to PQE are provided as a guide and should not deter candidates with more or fewer years’ experience from applying. We welcome applications from individuals who can demonstrate the requisite skills and expertise for this role. Haggerty Jaques is committed to promoting equality and diversity. We encourage applications from all qualified individuals, regardless of background.41bf1e1f-b16b-4260-a40a-17c77a06fd15
