Job Title Project Manager Location LAST Sure Start Office, Omagh Salary NJC Scale 3843 (£42,839 - £48,226 pro rata) Contract Type Permanent, full-time, 37 hours per week The Role Charity Jobs NI is delighted to be supporting Last Sure Start in the recruitment of a Project Manager to lead the delivery of high-quality early intervention and family support services for children aged 04 and their families. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager, service lead or community-based project professional to play a central role in shaping and delivering impactful children and family services across the local catchment area. Working at the heart of a well-established, community-led Sure Start programme, the Project Manager will lead multidisciplinary service delivery, oversee operational performance, support staff development, manage budgets, and build strong partnerships with families, community organisations and statutory agencies. The successful candidate will help ensure services remain inclusive, responsive, evidence-based and aligned with the needs of children, parents and carers. This post will suit someone with strong leadership skills, sound knowledge of safeguarding and regulated services, and a commitment to improving outcomes for young children and families through community development and early years support. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage integrated services for children aged 04 and their families within the designated catchment area. Ensure the effective implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes and support services. Drive continuous improvement through reflective practice, service review and evidence-based development. Ensure services are accessible, inclusive and responsive to community need. Act as Designated Officer for Child Protection and Adults at Risk. Act as Registered Person for regulated services and ensure compliance with Social Services requirements. Maintain high standards across safeguarding, health and safety, and quality of provision. Lead, support and supervise a multidisciplinary and interagency team. Oversee induction, supervision, training and annual appraisal processes. Promote a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture. Support the Management Committee on HR matters as required. Contribute to strategic and operational planning, including business planning, annual action plans and longer-term service development. Ensure local delivery aligns with regional objectives, policy and relevant legislation relating to children and families. Monitor performance against agreed targets and outcomes, and ensure timely reporting to stakeholders. Manage budgets in line with organisational and funder requirements, monitor expenditure, and support audit and compliance processes. Build and maintain effective relationships with service users, community groups and partner agencies. Represent Last Sure Start at relevant forums and partnership meetings. Uphold organisational values, equality commitments, confidentiality and all relevant policies and procedures. Person Specification / About You A relevant professional qualification in an area such as community development, social work, nursing, psychology or a related discipline. Significant experience working with children and families within community, statutory or voluntary sector settings. Experience of managing or supporting services, projects or programmes and contributing to service planning. Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills. Experience of working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and partner organisations. Good knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and relevant legislation relating to children and families. Understanding of community development principles, early intervention and family support approaches. Ability to monitor service delivery, evaluate performance and support continuous improvement. Experience of budget oversight and reporting in line with organisational or funder requirements. Access to a car or suitable transport to fulfil the duties of the post.
