Events Assistant
Full-time 9-5PM MONDAY - FRIDAY | Full Training Provided | South London
River is entering an exciting new chapter.
With our move into a bright new office in South London, we’re expanding our events team and looking for confident, motivated people who are ready to take the next step in their career.
At River, we specialise in face-to-face customer acquisition through live event campaigns, representing well-known UK clients in high-footfall locations. We create opportunities for people to develop practical skills, build confidence, and grow within a supportive, performance-led environment.
No previous experience is required. We provide full training from day one, ongoing coaching, and clear progression opportunities for people who are ready to learn, stay consistent, and take ownership of their development.
This is an on-site, events-based role — not door-to-door.
The Role
As an Events Assistant, you’ll be part of our live campaign team, helping to set up and run pop-up event spaces while engaging directly with customers on behalf of our clients.
You’ll be representing brands in a professional and positive way, creating strong first impressions, and helping customers understand our clients’ campaigns, products, services, and values.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys speaking to people, wants to build confidence, and is looking for a career path with real development potential.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supporting the set-up and smooth running of event spaces
Engaging with customers in a friendly, confident, and professional way
Sharing clear information about our clients’ campaigns, products, and services
Representing client brands with energy, pride, and professionalism
Working closely with the team to achieve campaign goals
Building practical skills in sales, communication, customer service, and brand representation
Taking part in training sessions, coaching, and development workshops
Learning how live campaigns are planned, delivered, and improved
Developing into wider areas of the business as you gain experience
What We’re Looking For
We’re more interested in attitude than experience.
You could be a great fit if you are:
Confident speaking with new people
Positive, professional, and reliable
Open to coaching, training, and feedback
Comfortable working in a fast-moving event environment
A strong communicator with good interpersonal skills
Able to work well independently and as part of a team
Motivated by progression, personal growth, and new challenges
Organised, proactive, and willing to take initiative
Previous experience in sales, events, customer service, hospitality, retail, promotions, or marketing can be helpful, but it is not essential.
What River Offers
Base pay plus performance-based commission
Full training provided from day one
Ongoing mentorship and professional development
Clear progression opportunities based on performance and development
Hands-on experience across events, sales, customer engagement, and brand representation
A bright new South London office environment
Supportive team culture with regular recognition
Optional team nights, travel opportunities, and incentives
Opportunities to progress into areas such as leadership, recruitment, marketing, client liaison, campaign coordination, and operations
Why Join River?
River is growing, and our move to South London marks the next stage in our journey.
We believe progression should be built through development, consistency, and results. That’s why we invest in training, promote from within, and give people the opportunity to take on more responsibility as they grow.
You’ll be part of a team that values confidence, accountability, professionalism, and ambition. Your input will be encouraged, your development will be supported, and your progress will be recognised.
