Research Associate - Sbarc/Spark, Cardiff

Research Associate

Cardiff Universitys School of Geography and Planning seeks to appoint a Research Associate to work as part of the AHRC funded Public Map project team. The project involves researchers at Cardiff University, Wrexham University, Bangor University and Cambridge University, along with external partners from the public, private and third sectors. The post will support the Public Map data team based in WISERD (Wales Institute of Social and Economic Research and Data) located in SPARK (Cardiff Universitys Social Science Research Park) and will provide expertise in open-source Large Language Models, applied to geographic and social science data, and software development to create mapping tools and data dashboards. We are seeking a researcher with a PhD in open-source Large Language Models OR with equivalent professional experience with some experience of working in research teams. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious researcher to gain experience of working on a collaborative project with researchers, policymakers, and local communities.

Salary: 41,064 - 46,049 per annum (Grade 6)
