About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Building Services Maintenance Manager to join the team at Midsummer Place Shopping Centre. This is a hands‑on position responsible for delivering high‑quality engineering and maintenance services across a busy retail environment while ensuring full compliance with health, safety and statutory requirements.

Working as part of a dedicated site team, you will oversee planned and reactive maintenance activities, support operational excellence across the centre, and build strong relationships with clients, contractors and stakeholders.

Location: Milton Keynes, Midsummer Place

Salary: Depending on experience

Hours: 41.25 hours a week

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead a small team of two engineers, providing day‑to‑day support, guidance and performance oversight.
  • Manage and deliver planned preventative and reactive maintenance across the site.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs across a range of building services systems.
  • Oversee maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Undertake hands‑on servicing, maintenance and repair works when required.
  • Liaise effectively with clients, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure service excellence.
  • Maintain accurate records through logbooks and CAFM systems.
  • Keep site management informed of maintenance activities and project updates.
  • Support weekend operational cover and undertake Duty Manager responsibilities following training.
About You
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services.
  • Strong experience with HVAC systems, boilers, air conditioning, controls and ventilation.
  • A thorough understanding of Legionella compliance.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety best practice, ideally with IOSH certification.
  • An industry‑recognised electrical qualification.
  • Good mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
  • The ability to work independently, prioritise workloads and lead by example.
